High quality preloved boutique

A unique mobile boutique extending the life cycle of clothing and accessories, helping you to achieve a more sustainable wardrobe.

What does Consciously Clothed offer?

Fast fashion is entirely unsustainable. In the UK, most clothing is worn for just two years. The most sustainable clothes are the ones you already own. All of us can do something to help, from shopping less, to extending the life of our clothes and one of the easiest ways to shop more sustainably is to buy second hand. We help you to rehome your once loved garments and give preloved garments a second life. Don’t let your used clothes go to waste.

Preloved items

We stock a carefully selected range of women’s clothing and accessories. All items are either new with tags, new without tags or in excellent used condition. Preloved fashion saves you money, helps the environment and is an exciting way to create unique outfits. Preloved may not be new, but will be new to you, which feels just as good.

Local Service

We believe that customers still like to physically browse clothes when they are putting together an outfit. We want to engage with you in a way that you simply can’t experience when shopping online. Choosing to shop locally has a positive impact on the environment and the local community.

Fighting Fast Fashion

Do you have clothes in your wardrobe that are in perfect condition, but you don’t wear them for whatever reason? Maybe something you wore often is no longer your style, no longer fits, or you just don’t love it anymore. What worked once for you will work again for someone else. If you love one-of-a-kind clothing, shopping preloved is a great way to find something that’s calling your name. It’s one of the most effective ways to fight fast fashion.

How it works

Our mobile boutique visits the local area on a regular basis. We welcome you to bring along your clothing and accessories for us to sell on your behalf. We keep your items in stock for two months and take commission on all items that are sold.

Should your items remain unsold after the allotted time, there is no charge and the items will be returned to you, or donated to St Helena Hospice if unwanted. Alternatively, we would love to welcome you to have a look at what we have to offer and perhaps grab yourself a real bargain.

My purpose

Linda Blanchette

During my time taking part in Climate Assembly UK, I was informed about how the things we buy are linked to climate change and when we throw products away that has implications for climate change too. The assembly supported the idea of repairing and sharing more, with less purchasing of new products and that’s when I came up with the idea of Consciously Clothed. A unique, local and conscious service helping you to make clothes last longer.
